It just blows my mind that I am already writing Camden's two month blog post! Time is just flying by! Just over a month old (5 weeks), Camden slept thru the night. I was shocked, amazed, confused.. I remember waking up thinking, do I wake her to eat? Is she going to be okay if I don't? Also was just hoping it wasn't a lucky night.. Well, we are almost at 10 weeks and she has slept thru the night every night! Most cases she sleeps longer than me! Beginning of May the Yingling's came to visit for a week and meet Camden. We had dinner trips, where she started a new thing of needing to eat when we are eating ha, and most cases is still that way now. But we have a rule, no holding baby when eating! Tommy's mom watched Camden while the rest of us went golfing. Didn't play as well this time out as the last, but again had my sweetie on my mind! That Saturday afternoon, Camden and I had one of my best friends baby shower to attend! We had a blast meeting a bunch of Mommy's girlfriends like AB, Jessica, Laura, Arianne, Ashlee, and Tiffany and even baby Gavin! We got back home and got to put up all of my crafts to finish Camden's nursery! I'm so happy with how it turned out! We had family and friends over that night for a cookout and all around fun time! Next day was my first Mother's Day, and Camden & Daddy made me a card book that they can add to for every occasion! May 12th we made our first trip to the zoo! The new addition was a lot of fun, but the rest of the animals were a little sleepy, I cant wait til she gets older and knows what is going on! Then we ventured to MacArthur Mall and walked around a bit! About a week later, we finally were able to move her out of newborn diapers! We also were able to "retire" a few sleepers as they, almost overnight, seemed to be too small! May 18th we all went to our first Chesapeake Jubilee. Its a big event put on every year with live music, carnival rides & games, and of course FOOD! Camden enjoyed a ride around the stroller while we enjoyed a few games & a blooming onion and lemonade! The next weekend it was Camden & Tommy's first trip to the Strawberry Festival. Very much like the Jubilee but better and bigger. They also had cute shops and vendors everywhere! That will be an annual event for us I'm sure and fun for Camden as she gets older! We went with our best friends Jessica & Kyle, and their little munchkin Ava! Camden turned 2 months on May 24th, 2014. We were pretty excited about her two month growth picture!
Camden had her two month check up on May 28th, 2014. 2 Months and 4 days old! I was so nervous all day knowing my little baby was going to be getting shots, but very excited for Dr. Stephen's to see how much Camden has grown! We got all her measurements first. 10lbs 6 oz, 22.6 inches long and head circumference 40cm (15 inches). All hit right in the 50th percentile! Which is perfect! Dr. Stephen's couldn't believe her almost 4 inch growth spurt in length since birth! Everything checked out well and she said at her 4 month check up we will get to try spoon feeding cereal! How exciting! Then came the hard part. 1 oral "shot" and 3 needle shots. Camden didn't seem to like the oral medicine at all. And we both didn't like the shots in the legs. She got 2 in her left leg and 1 in her right. I just watched her face, and the second her hands clinched and eyes closed, the scream and tears came, and so they did for me. I think I cried more than she did as she pretty much stopped as soon as I picked her up! Definitely not something I am looking forward to again! Doc said we can give her some infants medicine if we absolutely needed to if she was extremely fussy and couldn't calm down. She had a few moments we could tell she was in pain, but other than that she did great! Was very sleep and went to sleep with no issues. Mommy & Daddy are so proud of our little girl!
Camden is really hitting the milestones she is supposed to for her age! She isn't a big fan of tummy time, but is getting very strong with holding her head up. I'm sure the daily naps on my chest helps with that. She is able to focus so well with her eyes, will stare at you and follow you around a room. She loves staring at patterns and I usually have some crazy patterned pants or dresses on for her to look at. She loves "Little Einsteins" and the song is in my head all day! She loves it. She smiles and even giggles a lot more now. She loves to be "yawned" at, and when you stick your tongue out at her and make funny noises. I always try to repeat her little sounds back to her. I read somewhere that its good to do as it shows them their sounds are okay even though they don't sound like the words we say, and promotes them to want to talk more! (Even though I still try to teach her the basics on a daily basis; mama dada baba) HA I know we have a ways to go before that though!
Until next month..
