YAYYY! We made it out of the "fourth trimester", so they call it! And what an eventful month it was. Its amazing how much every day this little girl grows and changes. I always tell Tommy its like she falls asleep, has a dream about doing something, and wakes up and does it! That's how quick it seems she learns to do something! Obviously from here on out, the things she learns to do will just amaze me more and more!!
It's crazy to believe its already June. This summer is definitely different for us than all others have been in the past. With a 3 month old, laying out by the pool every weekend isn't really an option. With not being able to put sunblock on Camden and these crazy 100+ heat index days we have been having, I just don't feel comfortable enough risking it. I know how much of a baby I can be with a sunburn, I couldn't imagine a three month old! Plus this heat isn't good for us, let alone the baby. Next years summers will be a blast though! So beginning of this month we had friends over for some grilling and hanging out! Jessica and Kyle came over with Ava, and Scott and Heather with their new little one Jackson, whom we were so excited to finally meet. It was nice to have "mommy talk" and the boys to share their dad stories! That morning we had gone to brunch at Tradewinds with my parents. Its always been a favorite of mine, if you've never been, you have to try it!! They have everything, although a little pricey! The following weekend we made our first trip to Norfolk's Harborfest. All these festivals are so much fun. They had a Navy demo ship, which was a little loud haha, and a jetpack water demo. We enjoyed a few beers walking around in the warmth, Camden enjoyed her stroller ride! We visited all the little shops, got some food from our friends food truck Bro's Fish Tacos, and just made an afternoon out of it! The following weekend was Father's Day weekend, and I spent a lot of time at my parents house. We had a lot of things going on, so it was nice to hang out with them while Tommy was at work. And Camden got to hang out with her cousins a few times! They are really starting to come around to her, Ashton mostly. He loves to help me feed her, its too cute! Saturday we had a family friend's baby shower and Camden got to meet her "cousins" Brooklynn & Nathan. We joked the last time they were all together, they were in our tummys. Brooklynn is 2 months and 4 days older than Camden, and Nathan is just 3 weeks younger! Although he is the biggest!! ha Father's Day was next, I was so excited to wake up and give Tommy his gift! Weeks before I did a little photo shoot with Camden holding "D" "A" "D" and put it in a nice white 3 picture frame for him. I always loved crafting and "making gifts" before, but I think even more now that we have a baby! We then went to mom and dads for dinner and spend time with them, Aunt Linda & Jessica and Kevin. I had made my dad coasters with all his grandbabies, almost around the same age (two months) that way, when we have more kids, we can just add right along to his collection. Its crazy how much of Camden we all saw in the triplets. I held up a picture and Tommy thought it was Camden. Sure enough it was Ashton. So SEEE there are some SAMS in those babies, so everyone can SHUT IT! ;) Mid-June = WORLD CUP! So crazy to think its been four years since we all sat at Murphy's cheering along our team! Camden was so into the games too. She would just lay on the floor and watch the game, I think she liked the movement of the ball back and forth on the screen! And we had fun putting on our Red, White and Blue rooting on USA. "I believe that we will win!" That was the chant that caught on like wildfire. I even found Tommy running around the house singing it. We had fun watching the USA v Portugal game together.
June 16th was a big day in the Suggs household!! Camden woke up from a nap, I laid her down for "tummy time" and sure enough, she rolled over! 12 weeks old! So glad I had the camera on too! And it wasn't just a fluke. From that moment on anytime on her tummy, she just rolls right over. Sometimes she just hangs out on her side (especially if the TV is in sight) before she makes that last kick to her back. And I was so happy, because although I got it on video, I wanted Tommy to be able to see it too. So when we got home, I placed her on her tummy and she rolled over for him too!! I think my excitement helps encourage her. It makes her laugh! So Camden is still in size 1 diapers, and midway thru June we FINALLY went thru our first box! It took us just over a month, how awesome is that?! And we have so many boxes from all our friends and family at our shower, we are set for a while! Its nice to check off diapers from our shopping list for a while! Camden also got to meet another new baby friend!! A good friend of mine had her little boy Chase on June 10th! With Tommys work schedule we didn't get out to see him until he was almost 2 weeks old, but boy was he a cutie! He actually ended up weighing and measuring the exact same as Camden at birth!! (I think that means they are destined to be together, as long as Camden doesn't mind rocking the cradle a little! hehe) I'm so glad I have so many friends with babies now, its nice that there are other people that understand what we are going thru with how different our lives are. And just because we don't go out every night like we used to, and party til 2AM, that we are still the same people. And a phone call asking to hang out is still nice. Earlier in the month, I had finally gotten Camden a boppy pillow. I had a nursing pillow that I got for free from a website but it was so little and didn't do much, the boppy is way better and bigger (in case anyone is between brands!) But in the pillow I got 2 coupons for free Shutterfly books. My sister has made these books hundreds of times, so I figured I'd give one a shot. OMG - worse thing ever! I followed an outline for a book because I knew I wanted to do a book of my pregnancy. The outline was awesome, some page didn't fit, and I had to figure out how to add ones that did. But it just took so much more time than I thought it would. But after about three hours one night, and another hour the next day editing, the book was finished! And only took a few days to get here. I love it. I enjoyed my pregnancy so much (if you couldn't tell!) and I think its a very special thing, and I can't wait to share the book with Camden when she gets older. We have all this amazing technology at our disposal, so why not take advantage of it! I would have loved to see how my mothers pregnancy progressed with me!
So June 24th, my little one is THREE MONTHS OLD! I cannot believe it. For our monthly growth picture, I wanted to attempt to make our outfits. I picked out some fun fabric from the hancock fabrics, and went to work. I knew I wanted to make us maxi skirts. It took me two times to get camdens skirt to work, I used a pair of her pants to do the measuring, but didn't realize she has a BOOTY. (we say she has grandma sams' butt hehe) But it came out cute, worked for the picture at least! I also made us matching studded headbands and I dyed a onesie black to match my black shirt. Its impossible to find black onesies anywhere!! She was up to 12 pounds 2 ounces, up two months from the last month. She is just growing along perfectly! Still in some newborn clothes, pretty much only 3 months for her sleepers since she is so long! But we are in need of a 3-6 month shopping spree soon!!
Her next appointment is July 28th. She will get another round of shots and we will try to spoon feed her some rice cereal! She is holding her head up great, and is already so intrigued by our food. She will just sit there and stare at Tommy and I eating, almost waiting for her bite! So we will see how she does. I'm sure she will do great!
Until next month..
